A Reminder to Myself

The Holy Father’s tweet this morning:

To all who are sick, do not lose hope, especially when your suffering is at its worst. Christ is near you.”

I spent most of last week and this past weekend, resting. I’ve been sick with some sort of flu like virus and am cautiously hopeful that I am getting better. Being sick can be very demoralizing and discouraging and I am reminded why visiting the sick is a corporal work of mercy. Illnesses are tedious and trying on both patient and caregiver. My sickness is small and I will recover soon but so many suffer ongoing illnesses. Pray for them and visit them if you can. Suffer with them by tolerating them and being patient.

I’m so sorry you’ve been sick for so long! I’m glad you are on the mend!

I totally agree with all your thoughts. Just what I’ve gone through the last year has made me so grateful that I don’t have (any more) a chronic debilitating condition. They are the very blessed, but do need support!

Thanks Jenn. I know you understand the trial of sickness and all that goes with it. You have borne it graciously.
