“I decided that I wanted to take inspiration from a Vigee le Brun portrait for this series, but couldn't figure out which one to recreate - until I remembered that she had painted several self-portraits with her daughter Julie! For my ensemble, I used a white gown I made several years ago from the American Duchess/Simplicity pattern 8941. My daughter wore a sultana I made from the Burnley and Trowbridge pattern using a beautiful slate blue wool of theirs. Michele did her magic behind the camera, and we are delighted with the result!”
